They're welcome. You love having them. It's also been eleven days, and the word "visit" is starting to buckle. You can't ask them to leave — you'd never — so instead you give the guest room a shape they can feel. Every item below is genuine hospitality. That's what makes it work.

One air mattress, inflated firm to spec. It holds air all night and makes sure the sleeper knows it's doing so.
One alarm clock, analog, loud, preset to 5:00 AM, set across the room. Guests do not adjust house equipment. This is in the binder.
One house-rules binder, laminated page by page, laid on the pillow the way finer establishments leave a mint. Quiet hours, towel allotments, the thermostat's custody arrangement, and a checkout section that names no date but has visibly thought about one.

Nothing here is unkind. The coffee stays excellent. The towels are clean, numbered, and assigned. You're not asking them to go. You're asking the visit to have a shape, and letting the shape do the asking. They leave with a real goodbye and a printed feedback card. If they come back, the binder has a new page.
