You have concerns about someone you love, and concerns like these can't be raised across a couch. They need a table, an agenda, and name tents. This kit turns any dining room into a venue, and turns a conversation about the group chat into a proceeding.
- One folding table. It goes down first. Nothing says a matter has become procedural like furniture that arrived for the occasion.
- One clipboard, holding the session agenda, printed single-sided so the pages turn gravely.
- Name tents, one per seat — hers, yours, and the roommate's, who lives there and can't reasonably leave. Everyone at the table knows everyone at the table. The name tents are not for identification. They are for tone.
- One box of tissues, centered, within her reach. Nobody will cry. That isn't the point. The point is that the tissues were anticipated, discussed, and provided for.
She'll sit down. She'll look at the name tent with her own name on it. She'll ask if this is about the group chat. You do not confirm that it is about the group chat. You thank her for coming. She was always going to come — she's your friend, and she thought something was wrong.
